I’ve got a small collection of silver coins from various countries, all from the 20th century. I’ve no idea if they’re worth anything or not, but it would be good to find out.

I tried searching on Google for coin prices, but I just got the same few sites over and over, which were pretty useless.

Is there a catalogue or something out there with guideline prices for coins?

Is it okay if i just put them all in a glass jar? I thought of warping it with string wrap. Will it damage the coin if i string wrap it? Help! Thanks! :)

I have 9 Eisenhower Dollar coins and I don’t know if they are worth anything. I have been saving them for a while but I don’t really know what to do with them. They range from 1971 to 1978 and a few of them are marked 1776-1976.
    Thank you for any information.

Just looking for coins with silver in them. Don’t have to be .9999 fine or any sort of collectible. Just coins widely recognized to have silver in them.

Do not want to pay large dealer markups or shipping charges either.

So what’s the smartest way to accumulate some silver coins?

I have looked online and cannot seem to find out any information – especially how much they are worth. Help?

I’ve started coin collecting a year ago and am acquiring some valuable coins. Currently I am using 2×2 cardboard flips to store them but I want to invest in something a little better. Also I am thinking of the possibility of making a display out of them for in the room. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks.

I want to start collecting coins. I have recently purchased silver dollars and I just want to know what other coins have the same historical value without being as expensive. I typically pay $20 for the silver dollars in good condition and I want to know some other coins to invest in that are cheaper but that over time they will still increase in value just like the silver dollars. Any suggestions?
Oh and what do the coins that you suggest typically cost?

I’m looking into starting to collect silver coins and I feel like I have a great “tool” to use. My girlfriend is a lead teller at our local bank and she is in charge of ordering the money and “coin” for the bank. My question is which is the best way for me to get silver coins. Is it from rolled coins from the reserve or circulated coins that come in from small business or customers? Also is there I certain coin that is more likely that would be silver (dimes, nickel, quarters etc)? Commemorative coins? Any help is appreciated.

  • Alina Elliott  says:

Some coins and banknotes have unusual denominations. For example, there are coins of 4 doubles and 8 doubles in Guernesey, coins of 4 taris in Sicilia, 6 roubles, 15 kopecks, there are banknotes of 3 roubles. These values (4, 6, 8 and 15) are not common for coins and 3 is not common for a banknote. Do you know other coins and notes with odd denominations?

  • Joe T  says:

Assume the 100 coins consist randomly of pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters. Each coin has an equal probability of being selected.
Just as a side note, I got the idea for this question at toll booth. So I suppose this does have some type of real-world application.

Is there a certain way to take excellent photographs of coins for listing them on eBay? I’ve heard that scanning them can produce an excellent image; however, I’d like to know how to magnify the image so that it is no longer coin-sized on the website.

Can anybody tell me how to do so, and what model scanner to purchase that would be best for this task?

  • colingrillo  says:

Now, obviously in America, this isn’t a problem, but I have a coin dating back to 1791 in France, two years after the start of the French Revolution. The coin features the face and name of Louis XVI. That same year, Louis was imprisoned by Parisian mobs and was executed two years later. So what happened to these coins after his death? Louis XVI was not exactly on good terms with the French people at that point, so what became of these coins? Were new coins minted with different leaders’ faces immediately (obviously they were eventually), or were the same coins used for some time?

  • Jeanelle the Retard  says:

  • Mak Sultan  says:

I see people with these beautiful uncirculated coins and I’d like to start collecting them? How do I go about this? The coins are in mint condition, straight from the roll…I ask for coin rolls from the bank and I always get rolls that ordinary people wrap. I’d like to get the coins that come directly from the Fed…Please, any advice would be greatly appreciated!

  • Death Knight  says:

I want them too look shiny. Condition is not an issue because these are just loose dollar coins, worth approximately just the dollar, and by that logic I dont need to worry about value I have other coins in that category (valuable). So if there are any effective cleaning methods for these non precious metal coins. Mind you I dont want to destroy the coin but a little wear isn’t an issue.

  • Kaylla  says:

I’ve just started collecting coins (I am only 18) and I am considering buying rolls of coins from banks, picking out the good ones, and selling the rest back. I have heard that Kennedy halves are the best kind to buy. Are they? And if so, can anyone give an estimate of how many pre-1971′s they find in, lets say, every 5 rolls or so? I am just wondering if it is worth it. Any other tips? Thanks!

  • Erfan  says:

I recently discovered different types of coins in my house and I can obviously tell, from the look and wording on them, some are foreign coins. Many of the coins I have found, along with dollar bills ($), are mainly from the early 1900′s up until around the 1970′s.
My question, is there a good calculator online you could recommend that has all the different coins from different country’s so I could find out the values for today? Thank you

  • Rkmc  says:

  • Heath  says:

Im a big warriors fan but i don’t know much about the players they drafted. How did the warriors do in the draft to satify their needs in your opinion. I also heard talks of some trades before the draft involing the warriors and i would like to know if any of those trades are still possible. Did the warriors succeed in the draft or did they fail to improve and how well do you see them doing in the next year? No playoffs, first round loss, etc.? Please answer if you know.

I am reading the series Warriors by Erin Hunter, there are 19 books on it, two of them are extra ones. (I believe that is how many, I forgot). I was wondering what the warrior code is, well I know what it is, but can anyone give me a list of all the codes that the clan must follow? I would greatly appreciate it, thanks.

  • Christopher J  says:

When ever you watch one of those movies about ancient wars/warriors. Theres always a warrior who could take down like mutiple troops at a time. And sucessfully defend himself and kill 50 troops on his own. You always see this in movies. Were some warriors really that skillful with there swords. If not in ancient europe what about like ancient china or japan. Like youd see the one warrior like fighting like 30 troops and he comes out victorious. I understand that you could become very skilled with sword, spear, pike or whatever but isnt it a bit unrealistic that someone would be able to kill like 30 troops on there own. If you ever have seen crouching tiger hidden dragon or even lord of the rings. The heros of the movies are able to kill hundreds of troops. Is this possible to be that good?

  • RuMKilleR  says:

It seems like neither team wants that eight spot. They keep losing! Denver’s last two losses have been unforgivable. They have to beat teams like Seattle and Sacramento. Warriors also lost to Sacramento too, but New Orleans is at least understandable because they are good team.

  • Denali  says:

Hypothetically speaking. I believe you would see the same thing they are doing to the mavs; an unrecognizable Suns team befuddled and out of their style of play. The Warriors would be a nightmare for their soft interior defense.
There’s no doubt, it would be a fun and exciting series to watch

  • Caltel T  says:

Is it just me or have these panthers gone unnoticed. I wouldn’t say the warriors are going well just because they’re in the top 8 because we have a lot of talent missing and a lot of work to do with the current team. I think the warriors and the general league public should pay more attention to this panthers outfit because I reckon they’ll surprise a lot of people in the weeks to come. I’d rate them a good chance to win even if it is a home game for the warriors.

  • Keaton  says:

I find it hypocritical that the moral warriors always go after the adult entertainment industry, but never the soap operas. They display a much broader scope of immorality than the adult films do. The adult films have illicit sex, but so do the soap operas and they of course also have murder, played out affairs, cheating, lying, stealing, basically go down the list of the Ten Commandments and the soaps break them all. The “good Christian ladies” love them though and they are addicted to them actually, but you always hear about the men who are addicted to online sites and never about these women who are probably greater in number.

  • Tyler H  says:

So far, it appears that the referees can allow Manly players to tackle players who are running from the ball off kicks (both through chip-and-chases and bombs) and get directly between their player with the ball and defensive players, without needing to worry about pesky little things like playing the ball correctly.

How can the Warriors fire back?

I’m really confused. Any links to information or anything would be greatly appreciated at this time. Thank you so much!

46 points and 41 points, respectively in one game. That a sign of stars in their near future. The warriors are pretty good with ellis back. Excited what going to happen next?

I’m looking to start a leg sleeve tattoo and I had an idea of a war scene. I want something of my heritage because although I’m like 25% indian I look as white as they come and I’d look pretty goofy with that. I was thinking about vikings and norsemen but those are commonly associated with Nazi’s and Aryans, and I’m 100% against racism. So I was wondering if anybody knew of some other warriors that look caucasian.

  • kerrin marz  says:

The warriors are off to a hot start (15-7),they are playing better defense even without a healthy Bogut and their offense seems more functional with a lot of ball movement. • Victoria T  says:

As a hardcore Warriors fan, though I will miss Al Harrington, I think this is a very exciting trade for the Warriors that will make our team even more explosive and exciting. Crawford should fit in perfectly to Nellie’s offensive system and when Monta Ellis comes back and Morrow continues to develop, we’ll have a very young, explosive threesome ala Run TMC. What do you think, especially you Warriors fans out there?

Because I need the blood of the warrior to be strong in my future family.

Any race works as long as their ethnicity is known for being warriors and not just their military.

  • Gabriel Kenney  says:

First of all, I don’t think Nellie should have put in Barnes, as soon as he came on the floor, the Warriors tempo and rhythm got dismantled and the Suns started shooting 3′s.

It really pisses me off when it’s only Davis, Jackson, and Ellis who are doing their job. The others were having an off-night.

I wish Monta would be more aggressive, but he’s so unselfish that he forgets that he can go inside without any trouble.

Aside from the Celtics playing poorly, what did the Warriors do right or differently to key last nights win?

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to watch the game, but by seeing the highlights and looking at the boxscore, I have some opinions. What do you think?
Belinelli is showing Nelson how stupid he’s been for not playing him.
Adam: It looked like Turiaf had a great game. Maybe Nelson is finally realizing you need to play some bigs to win.

  • Marshal  says:

It was an exciting game to watch and down 18 pts in the 3rd Quarter the Warriors came storming back

Despite the fact they have beaten 3 of the 4 sides (loosing to the dragons narrowly)
Sour grapes , what do you think ?

Just wondering what causes the discolouring of pound coins, that makes them go really dark. I’ve heard that it mean that someone has swallowed it but am wondering if this is really true.

  • LN13  says:

I’m a timberwolves fan and obviously they’re not in the playoffs. I’ve watched every nuggets and warriors game and wow curry is just going nuts in these games. They’re the underdogs in the series and they’re up 3-1. I’m not jumping ship to being a warriors fan I don’t bandwaggon but I will be cheering for the warriors throughout the playoffs. What do you guys thing of them and how far do you thing they can go in the playoffs? Seeing how the thunder lost Westbrook and I believe the spurs will slow down and show they’re age. I could see then possibly making the western conference finals.

  • happyha31  says:

Usually an underdog is doomed for a series after losing a game they should have won, especially on the road. But these Warriors, especially Steph Curry, can score a lot of pts quickly. But I still think it’s a lost cause, and the Spurs will go up 2-0 after Wednesday. What do you guys think?
Also, momentum-wise, it’s a huge blow!! Then, there is the physical+emotional drain. It will be hard to keep up the hot shooting from game 1.

I am a young coin collector and i am almost done with my first collection ( Jefferson Nickels).
Im having trouble finding the rarer coins like the 1938′s and the war time coins. I am tempted to buy them on ebay but i don’t know if spending that kind of money would be worth it for a nickel collection. Any advice on where to acquire these coins and whether or not to spend money would be greatly appreciated.

  • Joe M  says:

Warriors get Raja Bell and Vladamire Radmonovich(not sure how to spell his name)

Bobcats get Stephen Jackson and Acie Law

    Who got the better deal?
Can the Warriors make the playoffs?

BQ: Will Raja Bell start for the Warriors?

  • diggn4richez  says:

Doesn’t the Nets know that the Warriors are a great team? Even without Lee and Ogudala? The Nets should bow down to the great Warriors and not try to beat them. Don’t they know that the great Curry scores 34 in your face? And you still compete? I hate all this competing business… I hate when cheap teams compete they should no there place. The Nets are not going to make the playoffs anyways even if they do they will lose in the 1st round. The Nets should know that they are wasting a Warriors win and for what? The Warriors needed it more NOT the Nets! Next time hopefully the Nets don”t compete next time against the Warriors and get BLOWN out of the gym and worry about getting lottery picks (Even though they won’t get one till 2019). Don’t you guys agree? The Warriors are a great every A basketball team than the Nets. The Nets spoiled the Warriors chances of continuing their 10 game winning streak to be the 1st team to go 7-0 on the road to maybe going on a 20 plus winning streak because they have alot of home games all because the Nets were greedy and selfish that they wanted a win too and actually compete for once in their lives this is the 2nd time they have messed up as they beat my teams the Thunder and my Heat I hate those competing jerks. : (
Aaron- Who the hell are the stupid DUbs? I am talking about the Warriors not this dubs you speak of… Are you drunk? Are you in the wrong section? I need fans of basketball to answer this question not this Dubs crap you speak of.
Rainmaker- I am afraid I have to disagree the Warriors lost because the Nets should realize they suck and should have tanked the game. The Warriors have bigger greater teams to beat and shouldn’t have to waste their energy on cheap teams. They have to save that for the tough teams.
Rainmaker- they have been playing with no effort and energy and been booed off the court for 22 losses whats one more loss? They suck and should realize they suck they should be succeeding in a horrible conference but they decided to be mediocre no worse than that calling them mediocre is an insult to the word mediocrity.

Is it possible to build a coin operated arcade machine using an old pc and running rom emulators on it? I know that you can disable certain things or cut power with a coin operated timer but I want to actually build it so that that credits are registered on the game when coins are inserted. I suspect this is not possible but would like to experts out there to comment.

  • Mark  says:

Ive been wondering lately that a coin might not be exactly a 50/50 percent chance. The coins have designs on each side and wouldn’t that throw it off a tiny tiny TINY bit because of the extremely slight weight difference? Anyways I was just wondering. Thanks in advance for answering.

I have 85 lbs of old coins not in any catalog or protection. My grandmother left them to me and I do not know how to value them even with the books I have bought about coin collecting. How can I find someone that is trustworthy to look and value these coins for me? The face value is about $800 of coins. I took them to a coin dealer here and he offered me a little over $2000.00 for all the coins but I hesitated because I am unsure if there may certain coins that might have significant value and he not tell me. I live in central VA. I welcome suggestions. Thank you!

Where could I go to find out how much (if anything) it would be worth? I also have other ones with different players on them. I am from Australia so please no links to overseas websites.
